BioDiversity Legacy’s Finance Manager, Gabi Strauss appreciation for nature has grown steadily in recent years.
Exploring her local wetlands in Melbourne’s southeast and observing the diverse birdlife of over 130 species has become a cherished pastime.
With her children now more independent, Gabi has found more time to indulge her passion for bushwalking, doing regular coastal treks and forest hikes and enjoying the beautiful countryside of Victoria.
Originally from South Africa, Gabi and her husband relocated their young family to Australia in 2003, initially to Perth and then a few years later to Melbourne, which they have happily called home ever since.
In addition to her work at BioDiversity Legacy, Gabi is a qualified Chartered Accountant and tax agent with her own accounting practice.
Driven by her love for nature and conservation, Gabi has eagerly embraced her role at BioDiversity Legacy, drawn to the organisation’s mission and dedication to future generations.
She believes in the power of BioDiversity Legacy’s initiatives to safeguard the environment for all inhabitants of our planet – birds, animals, plants and people alike.
Gabi is committed to supporting her colleagues on the ground and finds joy in learning about their efforts to protect and preserve nature. She loves talking to people about BioDiversity Legacy and its vital mission to secure a sustainable future for our world.
