JOSHUA WELLINGTON

Southern NSW Biolink Coordinator, Djiriganj Yuin Country, Bega Valley

Josh grew up on a large bush block in the Bega Valley, where the freedom to explore the Australian forests on the coastal fringe fostered a passion for conservation of these unique landscapes and communities.

Josh completed a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Environment, at the University of Wollongong (UOW) in 2006. Since completing this degree, he has worked consistently for the past 17 years in the field of natural resource management, ecology (botanical and zoological) and environmental impact assessment, bush regeneration and conservation land management.

While Josh has worked across private industry and environmental impact assessment, his current focus in conservation land management reflects where he always imagined he would be. Managing parcels of land on the South Coast of NSW for their conservation values, ensuring these parcels are maintained or improved, is enormously rewarding for him and he couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Josh is excited to join BioDiversity Legacy as he believes this organisation provides a means for people to protect their land that they have often spent a lifetime maintaining and are passionate about conserving.
