Robyn Edwards

Community & Stewardship Manager. Gunaikurnai Country, Bruthen, VIC

Based in Gippsland, Victoria, Robyn brings both passion and skill to the role of Community and Stewardship Manager, having worked in the conservation field for 38 years, including roles with Trust for Nature, the Department of Natural Resources & Environment and East Gippsland Shire Council.

During her 28 years with Trust for Nature, Robyn played a major role in supporting and inspiring the thousands of landholders in Victoria who have chosen to enter into voluntary covenants to protect biodiversity on their properties. She was instrumental in securing permanent protection of nearly 6,000 hectares of biodiverse habitat in East Gippsland, and in working hand-in-hand with landholders to establish long-term stewardship plans for these areas.

Now, at BioDiversity Legacy, Robyn is continuing on this mission by supporting landowners and communities to navigate the permanent protection options available to them, and to establish robust stewardship arrangements to ensure that land is appropriately cared for over the long-term. An important focus of her role is also on creating and strengthening opportunities for community engagement and empowerment across all our programs.

Robyn is also passionate about fostering collaboration within the sector, with community and landholders, and through First Nations, not-for-profit, local government and agency partnerships.

Mission-aligned programs

Robyn has been instrumental in leading various projects with our close partners, including through the Spot-tailed Quoll Recovery Program and the Helping Hands for Sheoak project, designed to restore habitat for threatened Glossy Black-Cockatoos.

Robyn brings a unique combination of passion, skills, knowledge and professional expertise to her role at BioDiversity Legacy, providing all our stakeholders with assurance that they are well-supported.
